For my installation of Chillispot I needed some computers without restricted access to the hotspot. Actually I’m restricting everybody with traffic shaping and some blocking rules. So I decided to write a simple bash scripts which gives access to certain users identified by their username. This is handy because I’m not checking for the MAC so the user can use any machine.
With the provided documentation the implementation of this script was actually a little problem. The documentation sais that the script will be called with a few parameters.

Script executed after a user has been authenticated. Executed with the following parameters: <devicename> <ip address> <mask> <user ip address> 

So I tried to call these parameters but no luck. After that I took a look in the code. Chillispot sets environmental variables but with different names than the variables standing in the documentation. I’ve made a list with the variables you can use in your script. Some of the variables are new for me so if anybody has further explanation for it I’m interested in it.
